Vicki's Pride started by a local lady, Vicki Nottage.  During Vicki's cancer treatment she was captain of a Dragons Abreast dragon boat team based in Adelaide. Through this sport she saw the benefits for people who did not have access to social exercise, aka Dragon boating. She planned to get a boat for Murray Bridge for all people to use, but lost her battle with cancer before the plan started.

After Vicki passed, her family and friends got together in her memory and fundraised tirelessly to raise the necessary funds to make Vicki's wish become a reality.

Unfortunately the long drought experienced in the South Australia, meant the water in the river was too low to launch the boat, so it went into recess until 2015, when a group of locals contacted Vicki’s family and requested to bring Vicki’s Pride out of retirement and give her a new life on the beautiful Murray River and enable people to once again enjoy the fun and benefits of dragon boating in Murray Bridge.

Training twice a week during the Dragon boat season, the club's motto is Fun, Fitness & Friendship which in 3 words represents our values.

The club encourages anyone young or old, Male or Female who is interested in the sport to contact us to arrange a come and try session or to join one of our training's.
