Continuing the Training Day tradition, DBSA and Victor Dragons invite members of regional clubs, B-Grade and non-racing metro-based clubs to gather at Aquatic Reserve (West Lakes), on Sunday 27 September 2026.

The benefits of attending include meeting and mingling with other dragon boaters, learning from other coaches and sweeps, and experiencing the subtle differences between Peisheng and Champion boats while training in a different environment.

With assistance from Pat Doogue and others, the program will include:

• On-land paddler technique coaching
• On-land sweep instruction and tips
• On-water practical training sessions, including using sweep’s toggles at the start line
• Opportunity for L1 sweeps to be assessed for progression to L2 (paddling sessions will include necessary accreditation components)

It is envisaged the above will commence at 9am and finish at 1pm, followed by an informal lunch (details to be advised) and debrief.
